The 2023 film "Killers of the Flower Moon" is based on the book of the same title about a gang of killers who targeted wealthy Osage Indians in Oklahoma in the 1920's. The Indians owned oil leases and the gang's method was to have members marry Indian women and then kill the wife's relatives.

The film's title comes from an Osage holiday, the "Flower Moon" which occurs in the spring.

In 1919 World War I soldier Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) returns home to Oklahoma and his uncle William King Hale (Robert De Niro) and brother Byron. William is a local leader and secretly the head of a murder gang. Ernest and Byron join the gang and Ernest marries an Indian woman.

At one time several gang members bring the proceeds of robberies to a poker game. Various United States bills and coins are shown on a table including Morgan and Peace silver dollars, Barber half dollars, Liberty Head nickels, and Lincoln cents.
