This advertising token was issued in 1933 to highlight the Southern California city of Santa Monica's Ocean Park Pier and it's attractions.
 
The Santa Monica Ocean Park Pier opened in 1926 and closed in 1956. It was replaced by Pacific Ocean Park in 1958 which closed in 1967 and demolished in 1975.
 
These tokens sometimes turn up in motion pictures as prop coins substituting for silver dollars.
